Force 4 Hope (F4H) is a nonprofit group that works with less fortunate children housed in orphanages in Ukraine as well as other orphanages in several European countries. This organization focuses on offering opportunities for orphan children to be hosted by loving families in the United States each summer and winter for several weeks at a time.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, many of the orphanages and foster villages that F4H works with have had to evacuate their homes to seek safety in neighboring towns and countries. Currently F4H is accepting donations in the form of goods as well as monetary donations. All the money raised are going directly to help these displaced children and families by providing necessary resources for the weeks and months ahead--this includes food, supplies, clothing, lodging, medical supplies, and toys. In addition, F4H has been sending teams of volunteers to refugee camps and foster villages in the neighboring countries of Ukraine. Through all this, they continue to bring hope and share the love of Jesus.

What has been our experience with Force for Hope?

In the winter of 2019, our family had the privilege of welcoming a sweet 7-year-old from Ukraine into our home. When we received her pictures, we instantly fell in love with her sweet smile and innocent eyes. Our minds couldn't fathom how scared she must have felt to fly across the world to come stay in our home for Christmas. When she arrived, our whole world changed. She was brave, curious, talented, and our time spent with her made that Christmas one of our most very memorable holidays ever. Even with the language barrier, we found ways to communicate & build a relationship that is still going strong today.

Over the last three years, our family has continued to work with Force 4 Hope Orphan Outreach to host her and continue to raise awareness for their mission. This past Christmas, we were also able to host not only her but her sweet little brother as well. To say these kids have changed our hearts and lives forever, is an understatement. We have built a relationship with their foster family in Ukraine and consider each other family for life.

At the end of the February, we got the frightening news that our kids and their foster village were surrounded by enemy troops and needed to quickly be evacuated to safety. Our heartache was immense, as we did everything we could to support and help find immediate safety for not only them, but the other displaced children and families of Ukraine. We are so thankful to report our kids are safe, but the effects of the war continue to linger.

Our family has been and is continuing to work together to raise awareness for Force 4 Hope and to help gather supplies for refugee camps and orphanages. This past April, several members from our family had the privilege of traveling to Poland with a team through Force 4 Hope. They delivered 29 suitcases full of medical and army supplies, household essentials, and activities for children. The trip was incredibly rewarding and eye-opening to the struggles still being experienced by Ukrainian refugees. We ask that you continue to pray for the country of Ukraine. Pray that they continue to have strength and find hope in their darkest moments. The wonderful people of Ukraine need our help more than ever, and to do our part we are raising money to help the Force 4 Hope Organization.

On behalf of our Ukrainian family and the Force 4 Hope Organization…THANK YOU! Your prayers, love, and support are changing the world for many.♥

With Gratitude,

The Groen Family
